Muay Thai is a fighting art that originated in Thailand thousands of years ago.. The conditioning of Muay Thai is the basis of the style, both physically and mentally. Muay Thai is arguably called the "Toughest ring sport in the world" it is known for its power striking techniques of punching (boxing), elbows, knees and kicks. The Muay Thai practitioner must have superior speed and conditioning through hard training.
CUMMATA Muay Thai classes offer a safe and fun environment for anyone and everyone. The classes are informative and are triggered for people who want to train like a fighter, but not actually have to go into a “ring”. Don’t get us wrong though, we also have a fight team!
Kru received his formal Muay Thai training in Los Angeles CA, under Professor Gilbert Tonali
Garcia. Mr. Rocha is also a 1st Dan Black Belt in Kenpo Karate and a 4th Degree Black Belt in Lima Lama (Samoan form of Bone Breaking & Muscle Manipulation.) He has held titles in Muay Thai and Kickboxing: 1993 IKF California Light Weight Champion and 1996, 1997 Light Weight Golden Leg Champion (Los Angeles). He has been teaching Muay Thai, Boxing and Lima Lama for the past 10 years and has over 22 years of experience in martial arts.
Students who are qualified and interested will also have the option of representing the school in full-contact Muay Thai & MMA events throughout Illinois.
